Vijay TV had its award giving function for Tamil cinema was held at Nehru Indoor Stadium yesterday. All the actors and actresses participated in this event. The best actor award went to Prakash Raj for acting in the film Kanchipuram while the best actress award went to Pooja for acting in Naan Kadavul.

The people’s favourite actor went to Vijay while the favourite actress went to Anushka. Abhinaya got the best supporting actress award for acting in the film Nadodigal. The others who got the awards are as under:

Best Comedian: Santhanam (Siva Manasula Sakthi)

Best Editor: Sreekar Prasad (Yaavarum Nalam)

Best Team: Pasanga 

Kamal, Karthik, Vijay, Surya, Gowthami, Reema Sen, Anjali and director Sasi Kumar took part in this event and presented the awards. Chevalier Shivaji Award was presented to Rajnikanth. Information Minister Parithi Ellamvazhuthi and Member of Parliament Kanimozhi also participated in this function. The dance featuring Sneha, Divya, Mumaith Khan and Poonam Bajwa also took place.

Sorry to say this, may I know on what grounds did Rajni deserve the award? one of his outstanding movies which I cannot forget is Aaril irunthu arubathu varai, superb acting.
