Gautham Menon has been declared as a successful filmmaker in Kollywood as he has churned out hits one after the other. The filmmaker had earlier forayed into Hindi film industry through Rehana Hai Tere Dil Main, which was a remake of Minnale. Since, he didn’t make a big time through this movie, his Bollywood dream remained unfulfilled.

Recently, the director had made his comeback in Bollywood with the Hindi remake of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, which is titled as Ek Deewana Tha. Starring Pratheik Babbar and Amy Jackson in lead roles, the musical score by A.R. Rahman, which had almost all the songs replicated from the original version raised everyone’s expectations.

However the film that was released on previous Friday received mixed reviews and the director says. ‘Film critics are just doing their job and we cannot comment on them. To be precise, none of my films had earlier gained good reviews.’
